The Politics of Change

Conversing over dinner is one of my favorite pastimes.  I had the pleasure of this opportunity with 2 of my favorite new friends:  we call ourselves “family chimps”!  These folks are such great folks; I love ‘em!  You’d think they’re from Texas, but interestingly, one’s from California [I'm learning that folks from California or imported from CA are amazing] and the other is originally from Chicago but has just returned from Costa Rica!

We talked about the politics or the “practices” of change.  What does it mean to change or start over?  How does one do that?  How do you rebuild your base?  How do you weave together a community of support or friendships?  I think it’s an important question to ask and to keep asking.

The question requires a context of relationship, certainly.  And, the three of us have that for which I am grateful.  The framework of friendship is braided together with delicate strands of life, though some strands are prickly.  That’s just part of the process!

And so, the politics of change are sometimes winding and the tunnel of change can sometimes be long.  Change can be an arduous process.  But, change produces such goodness and change is exciting.

I’m grateful for our chimp family!  Y’all are great!
