It just occurred to me that folks probably don’t realize that there are gender[s] to words [in Greek, Latin, Spanish, etc]. Having studied 7 different languages, I often play into that binary system, though hate to put myself into that binary system! Go figure! Each day I do my best to transcend it!
Yesterday was just one of those days where I utilized the beauty of gender, as I was talking about wind. I gendered wind, appropriately as “SHE.” My sentence was: “She is breathing fresh new life into my home.” My window was partially open, the music was playing, I was sipping on my coffee, and I was dilligently typing away on my MAC! Clickety; Clack, my fingers typed away!
Narrative is always gendered, whether we like it or not! Good, bad, ugly? It just is!
And, there you have is. Gender indeed is evocative!
