THEY NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Why should you get involved? Chicago Foundation for Women and the Emergency Network to Save Cook County Health Services have been calling for the creation of an independent board of trustees to take over Cook County’s Bureau of Health Services. An independent board would bring much needed public health management expertise to the bureau, increase the public’s confidence that tax dollars were being used efficiently, and most of all improve health care services. Unfortunately, reform proposals have been stalled for months.
But we are now seeing signs of hope! A proposal for an independent board of trustees is being circulated among the commissioners now, and it contains all of the important elements that we’ve been fighting for – representation from a broad range of public health experts, community involvement in the selection process, and the grant of broad powers to reform the county’s health system.
What should you do? Call, email, or fax your Cook County Commissioner and ask them to support the “revised Suffredin proposal” for an independent trusteeship for the Bureau of Health Services.
When should you contact them? Calls, faxes, and emails should be sent this week, through Friday February 29 - the legal deadline for commissioners to pass a budget.
Who is my Cook County Commissioner? Visit www.civicfootprint.org or visit the cook county website for commissioner contact information.
Save our public health services. They may one day save you.

So, so many of you have those inquiring minds….why is that? You wonder things that should never be told, but being the good friend that I am, I’m sharing a few pictures w/ you. Each time I talk with Maryann, my birth mother, she is relieved to know that my hair is returning.
So, without further adieu…Here you go!
This first picture [to the left] is the weekend of Jan. 4th after I was w/ NO hair! You can clearly see my scar from my brain surgeries. As I recall, it was a Friday night and I was about to enjoy a Fat Tire! I should say, however, that 4 days later, Lisa Tonna died and I attended her memorial service that following weekend, the 12th. That was a hard reality to swallow–at that point, I could only protest life, because I was healthy! The same weekend I attended the memorial service for Lisa, I celebrated Christmas with Soozer and Tim. What a gift that weekend was w/ Soozer and Tim!

Now, in this pictures [the set of 4], you can see my ever sexy hair line! I think it looks great!
And, yes, its all growing back and YES if you must know I will be sporting the faux hawk, which has been the look since 2004…in fact, the faux will be complete w/ a little more gray hairs, which, in my opinion, makes me look ever more sexified! And, as the self-integrated person that i am, I find myself swooning these days w/ my shorter hair…but, alas, the ROBYN look is returning slowly but surely! Rest assured you folks [namely Stephanie & Soozer] its all coming back! And, thanks Tim, for giving me the thumbs up on a lovely looking head–with or without hair!
