Post-Doctoral Fellowship in “Gender, Race, and Science”

The Department of Gender Studies announces a 2-year post-doctoral
fellowship in “Gender, Race, and Science” to begin August 2008.
Specialization in natural, social sciences or humanities, but with a
clear commitment to interdisciplinary work. Focus could include the
environment, technology, medicine, sexuality, transnational contexts,
and/or the theory and practice of science. We welcome empirical,
textual, and theoretical projects from a variety of fields and periods.

Applicants should be no more than five years past the PhD, and should
have the PhD in hand by May 2008. Teaching experience preferred.
Postdoctoral fellows will be included in a faculty/graduate seminar
on this theme, are expected to be in residence at the Gender Studies
Department for the academic year, and participate fully in the
intellectual life of the department. Fellows will carry the following
annual teaching load: three courses (a graduate seminar, an upper-
level undergraduate class, and an honors seminar or freshman topics
course).

The fellowship includes a stipend of $40,000, health insurance,
office space, and clerical support.
