spiraling over…updates

I’ve been spending a lot of time over on baptistnomad.com posting about life and politics thereby not posting over here on iRobyn.com.  Well, that’s changing a bit b/c I’m officially applying to the Department of Anthropology at UIUC.  This school is my #1 choice as the Anthro department provides substantial support and research interests revolving around borders issues, feminism, Latin America, Queer Theory, migration and violence.  I am very impressed with the school and the Anthro department.  I have been corresponding w/ some faculty and have narrowed down a few who could support and challenge my research.  In fact, I met w/ one faculty member for coffee yesterday in Lakeview.  I felt the meeting was positive and helps me have a better/deeper understanding of my potential place in doctoral work at UIUC.

So, the posting of my work and research interests and/or findings should resume on this site…the hobby of blogging will coalesce into more of a research hobby of blogging!  After all, that’s what this site is all about!!
